December 2005

Down to a week
Saturday, December 31 2005 -- Posted by Bozorgmehr

The feeling that I'm (temporarily) moving away from home and toward another country has not quite sit in yet. With less than six days until my departure, I've begun packing and getting things I need...things that I probably should have hunted before today. My critical documents are in order: passport, airline ticket, money, Letter of Intent, and the "What-to-do packet when things go wrong." Next week I should have my neck wallet thing to put documents in.

The only other thing that I need to do is call my travel agency to re-affirm my travel plans. I didn't know I had to do that...

But most importantly, and this applies to you folks, I'm in the process of obtaining some webspace to I can easily post our travel photos. :)

Relocation
Monday, December 19 2005 -- Posted by Bozorgmehr

So a few months ago, our Best Buy moved to a new location across the street from Wal-Mart. At first, I was all for it, since the store is closer to home. However, I have learned that Best Buy and Wal-Mart were not meant to be near each other. Even though we live in a small town, it takes forever to get to either of the stores.

Maybe it just the holidays...who knows. I guess I never noticed it got this crowded before.

17 more days until Europe!

Greatness

One of the greatest feelings in the world is when the burden of school is lifted off of your shoulders. Because at that moment, you don't care how you did...you just care that you are done.

Well, I suppose I'm not completely done...I have two (and a half) projects left for math. I'll get `em done...eventually.

Wal-Mart and the Holidays
Saturday, December 10 2005 -- Posted by Bozorgmehr

I made the mistake of going to Wal-Mart for an oil change on Saturday (today). The oil change itself didn't take too long, but getting outta there was the hard part. I kid-you-not, I waited in one place (as I was in the car) for five minutes before I noticed cars moving. I don't understand why the traffic wasn't proceeding at all. I'd like to think one person was making an inconvenient left turn or something and held up everyone. Oh well, a lesson learned boys `n girls.

On a side note, I had dinner with friends and families today and it was fantastic. It was a relaxing experience.

Less than one month...
Monday, December 5 2005 -- Posted by Bozorgmehr

So you know how Monday's are just our favorite days, right? Well, two classes and two exams today. I miss my first class (I will admit, it was a bit intentional...sleep was pressing), get up at 8:30am, realize I have a few more minutes to nap. I wake up again at the sound of my phone and find out that my friend is calling asking me why I am not in class yet. The time is 10am...I have a test at 10am...it takes me 15min to get to school. I get to school at 10:20am, and spend another 5 min trying to park.

Just to let ya know, my performance on this test may determine my grade for the class...and I end up 25min late. I get to class and my gracious professor allows me to make up the test in a few hours for some point deduction. Let's just say I was very fortunate.

The rest of the day didn't go as well, either. I didn't feel entirely too confident on my tests...and I will be quite honest, they were not overtly difficult.

I understand I have one week to go, but the motivation is not there. Maybe it's the anticipation of next year that is getting to me... I don't know, but I wish it wouldn't happen.

I'm really concerned for two finals, but at this point I don't think it will matter on my overall grade. I'm glad I'm doing well on my heavier weighted classes, but doing well on my major (biology) classes would help out greatly, too.

I'm sorry to rant like this...but if I told you I will be staying at a manor in England, would you feel happy? Let me rephrase the question, would you feel happier for me? ;)

You guys are great. Thanks for reading this far.

When you're back for the holidays, give me a call and we'll hang out.

I'm at home (my real home)
Friday, December 2 2005 -- Posted by Bozorgmehr

Can you believe it? It's 2am and I'm in my real house and sitting in my real room. Amazing.

I would like to take this opportunity and congratulate the engagement of my two friends and my professor’s new baby girl. I suppose in the midst of all the chaos in school there is something to be happy about.

And also a special thanks to my group in Evolution/Ecology for an excellent presentation.

Here are some dates worth remembering:

12/2 (Today!) – My mother’s birthday
12/9 – Chronicles of Narnia in theaters
12/12 – last set of final exams
1/5 – Bo is outta here!!!!!!!
